David Green
In 1990, I joined Greater Manchester Police, completing 15 years service during which time I worked several areas of Greater Manchester including Cheetham Hill, Moss Side, Hulme, Salford and Heywood, and completing my service in City Centre Manchester.
Throughout these years I have had a variety of specific roles including surveillance, CID, licensing and anti-terrorism, as well as the standard uniform patrol duties expected of every officer at differing points in their career.
During this time my skills and expertise were developed to now facilitate my move into the security industry. The training and experience gained through the Tactical Aid Unit are the most transferable to this industry. This expertise includes attendance at training courses hosted by the army at CATTERICK BARRACKS, concerning anti-terrorism, search techniques, bomb scene management and body recovery- skills that were subsequently tested in the field.
This training culminated in a six-month attachment to the City of Manchester stadium prior to the COMMONWEALTH GAMES.
In my last year of police service I regularly conducted joint operations
with the Security Industry Authority
applying the new legal requirements to the door industry and ensuring
compliance, gaining an excellent insight into the SIA.
It was in this manner that I decided, with another colleague, to
leave the police and form a training company named VINDEX, specialising
in the various forms of training required by the SIA
and which has proved to be a success.
It has now come as a natural progression for me to form my own security company, having seen for myself the standards of other security providers. Being in a position to assess current industry standards and existing personnel, I believe improvements can be pursued and, through training, I hope to ensure that staff members meet quality standards.
Using direct access to these trained staff, I intend to offer the
customer professionalism, reliability, and a tailor made security
package aimed at their individual needs.
